Delegate Proposal - Jonathan Claudius / Asymmetric Research

My name is Jonathan Claudius, and I’m the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Asymmetric Research. I bring a wealth of experience to the Solana ecosystem, having been deeply involved since 2022. As a core security and infrastructure partner, I’ve advised several prominent Solana-borne projects and teams, including Wormhole, Pyth, Firedancer, Jito Foundation, and Solana Foundation. Prior to co-founding Asymmetric Research, I served as Chief Security Officer at Jump Crypto and Director of Security Assurance at Mozilla.

At Asymmetric Research, we are committed to the safety and reliability of the Jito Network. Our team maintains a robust security partnership, operating the Jito bug bounty program and leading key security initiatives within the ecosystem. Our stewardship of the JIP-5 governance proposal was instrumental in establishing Jito’s bug bounty program, and we continue to operate several other prominent bug bounty programs for leading Solana projects.

We also run a Solana validator (agave + jito) on mainnet and a Firedancer validator on testnet. Securing Solana and Jito requires more than technical know-how; it demands proactive engagement as operators and stewards of the ecosystem to ensure the network achieves its full potential.

While balancing yield and decentralization may seem straightforward, the DAO must recognize that decentralization is a spectrum. Over-optimization can limit the DAO’s agility beyond a certain point. The DAO should clearly define measurable decentralization objectives that, once achieved, can ensure maximization of stakeholder yield.

Regarding DAO grants, they should always prioritize strengthening the interdependant Solana and Jito networks. I advocate for a measured approach to grant sizing—start small, test for signals of success, and expand support based on proven value to the network.

As a delegate, I approach governance decisions with a data-driven mindset, focusing on empirical evidence to guide choices that best serve the community. With 20 years of experience in engineering and security, I bring deep subject matter expertise that can help the DAO advance its mission. I’m committed to making thoughtful, constructive contributions to proposals, continually improving the Jito Network, and collaborating with others in the community.
