JIP-32: Activate Season 2 of The Community subDAO and Accelerate Jito Expansion Further

Category: Treasury

Introduction

This JIP continues the work initiated by the Community subDAO, by initiating Season 2 and expanding the reach of the Jito Expansion Teams.

The first Season of the Community subDAO was an experiment in extending the reach of the DAO into community oriented spaces. The goal being to build grassroots Jito communities in territories across the world.

The first season successfully established JET Europa and JET APAC, which have spun up a programme of activities and content which is showing great promise for building regional specific community activity.

The second season of the community subDAO will aim to cover a one year period, expand to 5 JET teams, deepen its impact in key events and interventions in the Solana ecosystem, establish JET and Solana Superteam alliances, further develop the experiences for the Jito Cabal and activate Jito Works as a mechanism for promoting builder communities to build on BAM and NCNs.

Motivation

The growth of Jito as a core Solana presence both in stake and community mindshare is critical for the success of the network. The Jito Expansion Teams are a means for the network to extend its reach on the ground level at key events, builder spaces and in online communities around the world.

The first season began with a cautious approach, halving its initially outlined budget to test out the capabilities of the DAO to extend into more community oriented modes of engagement. This reduced budget was reduced further by depreciation in JitoSOL prices, which paused the Jito Works initiative and reduced the discretionary treasury uses. Nevertheless, even with the reduced budget, great progress was made through the establishment of two JET teams, which now have coordinated members situated across Europe and the APAC region.

Season 2 aims to un-limit the expansion by providing a deeper budget and a progressive decentralisation of treasury control out to high performing JET teams over time. This will limit DAO overhead and extend trust to local teams to best meet Jito outcomes on the ground level. A top level community subDAO structure will retain spending oversight control and issue guidelines to JET teams limiting their spending to approved JET initiatives and spending classes.

Key Terms

Community subDAO
A DAO-authorized treasury and governance structure responsible for coordinating community-oriented initiatives, allocating funds to JET teams, and maintaining spending oversight in accordance with DAO-approved guidelines.

Season 2

The second operational term of the Community subDAO, spanning approximately twelve months, focused on expanding Jito’s global community presence through JETs and related initiatives.

JET (Jito Expansion Team)
A regionally focused team responsible for executing community growth initiatives for Jito, including events, content, partnerships, and grassroots engagement within a defined geographic or community scope.

JET Team
An instance of a JET operating within a specific region or ecosystem segment (e.g., Europe, APAC), composed of coordinated contributors and operating under the Community subDAO’s spending and reporting framework.

Incentive Distribution
The allocation of JTO to community members, contributors, or partners in recognition of high-impact or long-term aligned contributions to the Jito ecosystem.

Specification

Capitalise the community subDAO with $1.5m (75% JitoSOL, 25% JTO)

Figure 1 - Community subDAO Treasury breakdown: Operational funds are covered with JitoSOL spend, with JTO being used only as incentive distributions where the recipient is likely to hold long term.

JETs

Will operate with a distribution scheme, whereby each JET gains monthly autonomous control of a fixed budget for the term of the subDAO (roughly $20k - modified to regional costs).

Each month the JETs will have an opportunity to bid to the core subDAO treasury to extend their budget for that month to capture any viable and impactful community opportunities.

If JETs follow spending guidelines and demonstrate high levels of effective spend. JETs will move to quarterly autonomous spend and higher caps on asks to the subDAO reserve treasury.

JETs will produce monthly updates to the forum to articulate their activities and interventions to the DAO, where community feedback can guide and shape their practice throughout the year.

Spending Guidelines

  • Travel within local JET territories

  • People costs and labour

  • Content creation and creators

  • Event organisation and delivery

  • JTO incentives to impactful community members

Figure 2 - JET roll out costing: JET teams scale up to 5 (red line) by year end operating on a flat monthly budget of approximately $20k (monthly costs are blue bars), with cumulative costs throughout the term annotated in yellow.

Reserve

The subDAO reserve can be used for discretionary spend on broadly community related Jito expansion. With the following broad mandate:

  • Outstanding opportunities for Jito presence in key events and community spaces.

  • Tooling to enhance community engagement, participation tracking and token distribution.

  • Community content creation and activating high influence individuals.

Aims and Outcomes

Aims

  • Establish a ground level, grassroots community presence in key areas globally.

  • Expand up to five (5), JETs by the end of the term

  • Create innovative and impactful Jito experiences that receive good feedback from the Jito and broader Solana community.

Outcomes

  • A programme of high quality Jito focussed events

  • Prominence of the Jito brand in key community spaces and events

  • Engaged IRL and online communities

  • More community and open source contributions to the Jito Network code bases

Iterations to this proposal are to be expected and encouraged whilst in the official notice window of 2 weeks. Comments from JET teams and key community subDAO stakeholders are requested to post before the vote goes live. Community feedback and input will be most appreciated.

Hey everyone,

Kouga here, pilot of JET Europa !

Season 1 is going on and we entered the 3rd month of it with great accomplishments for JET and Jito

You can find the first month accomplishments here : JIP-21: Accelerate Jito Expansion by Activating a Community subDAO (Season One) - #9 by Kouga

And for month number 2 by Kornel :

We currently have a very strong presence in Ireland, UK and France at the moment, this momentum is not going to stop as we’re already planning stuff that we can’t share yet that will make Jito one of the main IRL leader in London and Paris in early 2026.

The logic behind season 2 is to expend to other countries and we aim at having a presence in Germany, Spain and Portugal, a very strong one that we already started working on when we launched JET.

By being one of the best support for builders on Solana by providing ressources from Jito, we’re growing the Jito brand and by that, the whole Jito ecosystem.

As said a month ago, we want to prioritise people from the JitoDAO to our initiatives, feel free to reach out to us on our tg or X.

Best,

Kouga

Kouga and team, great to see the momentum from JET Europa!
JET Asia fully supports JIP-32 and the activation of Season 2 of the Community subDAO.

Season 1 has been a highly productive proving ground for JET Asia and we believe it clearly demonstrates the value of regionally embedded JETs operating in close coordination with existing Solana ecosystem partners.

Over the past months, JET Asia has fully leveraged local Superteams and Solana communities in each country to support builders and accelerate Jito’s visibility and adoption across Asia. Rather than operating in isolation, our strategy has been to integrate tightly with trusted regional operators and contributor networks, plus leveraging 2 JET Asia crews, Sushie and Taewoo, coming from TradFi, we could connect Jito to legitimate institutions from HK and South Korea.

Concretely, Season 1 activities included:

Community call/AMAs

  • Regular participation in online community calls across Superteam and talk about Jito/JET (20 calls), engaging with a total of 500+ participants, primarily Superteam members and Solana builders

  • Online AMAs and technical workshops focused on Jito, JET or Solana primitives, hosted with local communities in

    • BAM validator study session with Alejandro in Japan with 25 participated,

    • JitoCabal AMA with Cousin Greg in Japan with 200+ participated,

    • JitoCabal Mint Live in Japan with 18 participated,

    • Collaboration AMA with Zeus Japan with 153 participated,

    • Jito AMA in Indonesia with 25 participated,

    • Jito workshop in Indonesia with 25 participated,

Offline Workshops/Panels

  • Offline builder workshops in Tokyo, Seoul, BAM Workshop at Danang, and Hacker House Shenzhen, reaching 150+ IRL participants and enabling direct, high-signal interactions with Solana builders

  • Participated Coindesk Japan Study Session for enterprises as a moderator/panelist

  • Participating in the Seoulana Hackathon as panelist, Jito featured prominently in NCN track.

  • Organized exclusive Solana ecosystem meetup in Hong Kong, with MagicBlock, SNS, Adrena, and Bonk

  • TradiFi & DeFi Initiative in South Korea as monthly offline meetup, where various professionals across Web2 & Web3 share insights each other, and discuss how two sides may meet and collaborate

  • Wavebridge VIP Session – Presented Jito and LST opportunities to institutional and HNW clients

Media/Branding

BD

  • Enterprise and institutional connectivity, introducing and aligning Jito-related initiatives with 10+ established institutions from traditional finance players especially from HK and South Korea

  • Facilitate CEX listings and ecosystem connections in markets such as the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, and Japan

  • Help 5 retail and institutional validators onboarding on BAM or Jito

Conferences

  • IRL presence at major regional conferences, including Hong Kong FinTech Week, Accelerate Shenzhen, Korea Blockchain Week, and Abu Dhabi Breakpoint, ensuring Jito representation in industry and Solana-native environments

These efforts position JET Asia as a key bridge between global Jito strategy and local execution across Asia.

Season 2 enables the next phase: scale and autonomy. With a longer runway and progressive decentralization, we plan to expand into Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Mainland China, while deepening builder, enterprise, and IRL engagement.

Neither Solana nor Jito/JET are the center of attention yet in Asia, in other words, Asia is a fast-growing Solana region, and JET Asia is ready to directly support JitoSOL/JTO growth, BAM adoption, builder/dev engagement, and long-term mindshare.

We look forward to continued collaboration with the JitoDAO and broader ecosystem. :airplane:

Best,

JET Asia team

Hi all!

Kornel here - a quick extended intro about myself and the mission we’re on with JET Europa.

Years before establishing Superteam Poland as a Co-Founder and working with Superteam UK as a City Lead, I used to work for an Industrial AI and Chipset manufacturer where I translated complex technical jargon for clients who only cared to listen if they related to the product and it solved their problems. Similarly, with JET, our approach is to create specific incentives and modes of community activation by which we can onboard everyone and anyone. Help make it easy to understand, use fun and relatable language and create mechanisms that incentivise people as well as companies to be retained as valuable members of the Jito eco.

JET is already showing clear signs of picking up market traction and we are receiving positive feedback from start-up projects as well as larger institutions. For example, R3 have praised us on our novel approach with the Runway program and the breath of fresh air it brings to the technically congested and highly analytical CT. We aim to work more creatively and yet simply, to bring complex ideas to the forefront of those who typically would not be exposed to them, and make them engaging for those who otherwise would not be inclined to fully digest them.

I’m based in the UK and have so far attended every listed and unlisted crypto event or unrelated house party in representation of Jito as one of the JET lead’s and the overall sentiment is a rewardingly positive one. With Breakpoint taking place in London in 2026, I have already began jotting down side events with some key UK based companies and of course, SuperteamUK. It is an incredible opportunity for Jito to create a strong European presence through the powerhouse of a city that London is when it comes to anything financial technology.

I would like to take the opportunity to invite everyone to the upcoming events that we will be hosting and drop a message if you’re down to brainstorm ideas or have any suggestions on what you’d like to see / experience in the UK. Extremely excited for what Season 2 is going to bring.

All the best,

This proposal is a strong and timely step toward deepening Jito’s global footprint through the Community SubDAO model. It’s a strong and necessary continuation of the work initiated in Season 1. The reports shared by regional leaders clearly demonstrate solid execution capacity, effective local coordination, and tangible impact for the Jito ecosystem. Activating Season 2 with a clearer execution mandate and stronger regional focus is both timely and well aligned with Jito’s evolution as core infrastructure within Solana.

From a Latin America perspective, this initiative is particularly relevant.

LATAM has a fast-growing base of builders, operators, and governance participants across Solana and the broader Web3 ecosystem. However, there remains a meaningful gap between global protocol initiatives and consistent, locally coordinated execution. A structure like JET, with defined goals, funding, accountability is exactly what’s needed to bridge that gap and unlock sustained regional impact.

Modular Crypto would be very interested in supporting and leading the JET initiative in LATAM.

We operate as a Web3-native media, community, and ecosystem coordination platform, with hands-on experience across:

  • DAO governance participation and structured reporting
  • Regional ecosystem activation through events, workshops, and governance calls
  • Content, education, and narrative alignment for global protocols
  • Acting as a coordination layer between local communities and global strategy

Over the past years, we’ve worked closely with multiple ecosystems and DAOs, translating global objectives into regional execution while maintaining alignment with core governance goals. This includes delivering transparent reports, measurable outputs, and community-facing updates, all closely aligned with the expectations outlined for JET Season 2.

From the Brazil side, we also see strong alignment to contribute meaningfully in Season 2. We currently have two team members actively participating in the Jito Cabal, reinforcing our long-term commitment to Jito governance and ecosystem building. We maintain a direct connection with Superteam Brazil, enabling efficient integration with local builders, technical events, and educational initiatives across the Solana ecosystem.

In addition, we have hands-on experience organizing and executing IRL and community-driven events focused on sustained engagement. We also hold established relationships the largest and longest-standing crypto exchanges in Brazil, creating potential for institutional connections, regional visibility, and strategic initiatives aligned with Jito’s expansion goals.

If this proposal moves forward, we would be happy to:

  • Lead JET LATAM operations, with Brazil as a regional hub
  • Coordinate local contributors, communities, and strategic partners
  • Support onboarding, visibility, and governance engagement across the region
  • Provide consistent reporting to the Community SubDAO and the broader Jito ecosystem

We see Season 2 as a clear opportunity to scale Jito’s presence in Latin America, not only in adoption, but in governance participation, contributor development, and long-term ecosystem resilience.

We’d welcome further discussion with the proposers and the Community SubDAO on how best to structure this collaboration.
Happy to provide additional context or jump into next steps if useful.
