Identity and Background
What is the delegate’s identity and background?
Chorus One is a leading infrastructure provider in the blockchain space, specializing in staking services and decentralized network participation. We operate validator nodes on over 50 proof-of-stake (PoS) networks, including Solana, Ethereum, Avalanche, and NEAR.
Since 2018, Chorus One has been at the forefront of the PoS industry, offering easy enterprise-grade staking solutions, industry-leading research, and investing in cutting-edge protocols through Chorus Ventures, a $30 million fund.
Our contributions to Solana include:
- Top-tier validator performance since Solana genesis block.
- Breaking Bots—a bot that democratizes access to MEV.
- Bringing Lido on Solana.
- Continuous educational and advanced, publicly available research.
Has the delegate historically contributed to the Jito Network?
Chorus One contributes to the Jito Network by running a Solana validator with a Jito client. We currently support a stake of 1.1M SOL and have been operating the Jito client since February 2024.
Our collaboration with Jito includes an ongoing exchange of ideas and insights. Through a series of articles and the Breaking Bots whitepaper, Chorus One has contributed to understanding and measuring the negative externalities of MEV on Solana and the potential threat of a mempool.
Recently, our proactive engagement allowed us to receive advance notice of a vulnerability in Solana through Jito, enabling us to update the client swiftly.
Has the delegate historically been involved in protocol governance?
Chorus One is actively involved in protocol governance across more than 20 networks. Our governance participation includes voting, submitting proposals, and engaging in community discussions to ensure our actions support the long-term health of the networks.
We prioritize transparency by publishing an annual Cosmos governance report that reviews our performance and explains the rationale behind our decisions. The 2023 report shows our commitment to accountability and informed governance across the protocols we engage with.
Is the delegate committed to helping the Jito Network and Solana succeed? Explain.
We see Solana as one of the two most critical blockchains in the foreseeable future. As one of the first validators on Solana, and as a top-performing validator on the network running the Jito client, Chorus One is deeply invested in the long-term success of both Solana and Jito.
Our value proposition extends beyond validation; we’re known for our high-quality research. In our “Breaking Bots” paper, we proposed a bot designed to extract MEV on Solana at the validator level and redistribute it to delegators. The bot’s implementation details are publicly available on GitHub.
Based on the same principles, Paladin has developed a similar MEV bot that is fully compatible with the Jito client. Chorus One is currently running this bot on one of our Solana validators and is working towards expanding it to our main validator.
Chorus One was also instrumental in bringing liquid staking powerhouse Lido to Solana in 2021.

How should JitoSOL validator delegation balance performance (yield) versus decentralization goals?
At Chorus One, we strive for a balanced approach to network health by prioritizing both performance and decentralization. We understand that high yields attract stakers, but true resilience and security come from a decentralized validator set. While maximizing yield can compromise decentralization and maximum decentralization can lower returns, we believe striking a good balance is possible. Our goal is to be in the top 20% for yield while maintaining around 80% of optimal decentralization, knowing that defining and measuring these targets is not always straightforward.
We understand that decentralization must extend beyond the validator level, avoiding reliance on major providers and ensuring diversity at the data center and ISP levels. Geographical distribution is also important; while too many validators in one location are risky, a spread across well-connected regions can balance resilience and low latency. Our goal is a validator network that is diverse enough to be secure while maintaining strong performance.
What should be the priorities for JTO liquidity mining and DAO token grants?
At Chorus One, we believe JTO liquidity mining should focus on sustainable, targeted incentives that drive genuine, long-term participation in the ecosystem. Rather than broad incentives that attract short-term stakers, efforts should boost liquidity in areas that provide the most value, e.g., DeFi protocols.
For DAO token grants, we recommend prioritizing initiatives that expand JitoSOL’s use cases and drive ecosystem growth. Grants should support projects that enhance network security, increase staking participation, and foster innovation, e.g., new DeFi integrations, MEV mitigation research, or educational programs.
What are your goals for the DAO as a delegate?
At Chorus One, our primary goal is to support the growth and success of the Jito Network by leveraging our role as validators. We aim to back governance decisions that enhance network security, promote decentralization, and drive the adoption of JitoSOL.
We are dedicated to transparent and active engagement within the DAO, supporting proposals that advance Jito’s mission and set high governance standards in the Solana community. We believe that bringing data to governance is crucial, and we are committed to advocating for data-driven decision-making that enhances the quality of governance actions.
By bringing data to governance and advocating for data-driven decision-making, we seek to help the Jito Network achieve its long-term goals.
